The objective of child protection is to promote, protect and fulfil the rights of children against abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and other human rights, humanitarian and refugee treaties and conventions and national laws. Every child in the ECOWAS region has the right to be protected and his or her well-being promoted - whoever and wherever he or she is. It is our responsibility to ensure that this is a reality, whether the child is in his or her country of origin or has migrated to another country.
